Carl Vinson VA Medical Center Names New Director
Dublin, Ga. – James L. Robinson, III, Psy.D. was appointed Director of the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center effective October 28, 2007. Before his appointment as Director at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center, Dr. James (Jay) Robinson served as the Associate Director at Salisbury VA Medical Center from April 2004 to October 2007. Dr. Robinson has been with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in various capacities since 1992 when he began his tenure with the VA as a Staff Psychologist at the Hampton VAMC in Hampton, Virginia.
Dr. Robinson graduated from the University of Georgia in 1987 with a BA in Psychology, and he obtained his Doctorate in Psychology from the Virginia Consortium for Professional Psychology in 1992.
A member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Dr. Robinson serves in leadership roles on numerous national and local committees and served as the co-chair of the 2006 Senior Management Conference. He is a graduate of VA’s Executive Career Field Program, a Coach for the Healthcare Leadership Institute, and a member of the 2006 class of Leadership VA.
Dr. Robinson enjoys running, coaching youth basketball, golfing, and reading. He and his wife, Kia, have three children.
