Sports & Recreation

Outdoorsmen flock to the open fields and streams for hunting and fishing that Dublin-Laurens County has to offer. The scenic Oconee River winds its way through the heart of the county and harbors several public boat ramps as well as opportunities for kayaking and exploring.  The area is also home to a regional recreational park which is the site for many softball and baseball tournaments.

There is always many activities to enjoy if you love the outdoors.

Major species found at the fishing area are largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish, and crappie. Some of the amenities are a concrete boat ramp, a fish cleaning station, a fishing pier, restrooms, and a covered pavilion picnic area. The fishing area is open year round.

Other Activities

In addition, it would be remise not to mention that many residents have season tickets for Atlanta Braves and Falcons games as well. Many of the nearby colleges have athletic programs accessible within two hours which include University of Georgia, Georgia Tech, Mercer University, and Georgia Southern University.

The community is also very proud of High School sports, noting that Dublin High School's football team tied Charlton County in the 2006 State Football Championships, 13 to 13.
