Arts & Entertainment

The County’s location, sitting directly between Atlanta and Savannah, allows residents to enjoy the deeply unique, historical, and educational amenities of two of the most relevant cultural mainstays in the United States.

However, for local-goers, there is still plenty to enjoy 'in town.'

Dublin-Laurens St. Patrick's Festival

The City of Dublin and Laurens County are best known for the month-long St. Patrick’s Festival when they ‘zestfully celebrate a wee bit of Ireland in Georgia’ throughout the month of March. Events include the Arts and Crafts Festival, Pancake Supper, Irish Balloon Festival, Mainstreet Munchies, Leprechaun Road Race, St. Patrick's Parade and so much more.

The St. Patrick's Festival began in 1966 and has grown from a local event to a major area attraction.  The festival has been named as one of the Top 20 events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society and prides itself as being one of only a few festivals in the state that is run solely by volunteers.

Possum Hollow Arts and Crafts Fair

The town of Dexter’s Possum Hollow in September has also become a major annual event. Participants can enjoy local crafts, great food, entertainment, an antique car show and rides for the kids during this two day event.

Theatre Dublin

Theatre Dublin is a performing arts center and can accommodate over 600 people. Located in downtown Dublin, the Theatre has featured musical acts, orchestras, comedians, youth theatre, pageants, lively concerts, and dance performances, including an annual performance of the Nutcracker Ballet. In addition, the region’s Fine Art Subscriptions Series brings nationally renowned acts to Dublin Theater.

Museums

Across the street from Theatre Dublin, in the historic downtown, is the Dublin-Laurens Historical Museum. The museum serves as a resource for historical information about the area. The collection includes photographs, paintings, Native American relics, journals, letters, and other historical artifacts.

Market on Madison

Located one street behind Dublin Theater is the weekly Farmer’s Market.  During the summer and fall this newest addition to the downtown area brings the community together to enjoy food, music, wares, and each other.
