Arts & Entertainment
The County’s location, sitting directly between Atlanta and Savannah, allows residents to enjoy the deeply unique, historical, and educational amenities of two of the most relevant cultural mainstays in the United States.
However, for local-goers, there is still plenty to enjoy ‘in town.’
The City of Dublin and Laurens County are best known for the month-long St. Patrick’s festival when they ‘zestfully celebrate a wee bit of Ireland in Georgia’ throughout the month of March. The town of Dexter’s Possum Hollow County Fair in September has also become a major annual event.
In addition, the region’s Fine Art Subscriptions Series brings nationally renowned acts to the County. Most events take place at the community jewel, the Dublin Theater, a 621-seat facility. Dublin Theater is also the site for lively concerts, plays and other community events.
Across the street from the Dublin Theater are the Laurens County Historic Museum and the weekly Farmer’s Market – which during the summer and fall brings the community together to enjoy food, music, wares, and each other.
